I came to craniosacral work through my own search for health. Rock climbing, backcountry skiing, the rest of the Colorado outdoor things–all have been or still are passions of mine. Consequently, I’ve had to heal from a lot of injuries, including head trauma. I’ve also had my share of chronic illness, as well as many of the emotional and spiritual challenges many of us face in our lives. It’s humbling. Often daunting.
I have tried almost every available healing modality. Most forms of massage, chiropractic, PT, acupuncture, and some that are pretty “out there.” Not to mention conventional Western medicine. I still rely on many of those modalities for certain things. I can say, however, that the single most effective treatment I have ever found for myself has been craniosacral therapy. This has been true physically, emotionally, and even spiritually.
It doesn’t mean I use it alone. It just means it’s at the core of any approach I take to my healing. Because if I don’t calm down, if I don’t find that most inward, centering sense of flow, that most basic pattern laid down before I was even born, I won’t enter my recovery with my truest alignment. The photo above was taken right after a wonderful BCST session with Patricia Rohan at Liminal Touch, while I was visiting Whidbey Island, in Washington. I was so relaxed!
I am so grateful I was able to make time in my life to become this type of therapist myself.
I am a certified biodynamic craniosacral therapist, trained by the world-renowned team of John and Anna Chitty. I also have Reiki training in animal healing and communication. Later this year, I’ll do some additional training in nervous system dynamics. I am also able to offer CST/Reiki to people and animals remotely.
I am not someone who will tell you that alternative medicine is the only way, or who will judge you for needing surgery or meds. Or for not following the “perfect” spiritual path or diet. We do the best we can in a given moment in our lives. We make gestures toward wholeness that body and spirit will appreciate and follow at their own pace and in their own wisdom.
Enough about me! Here’s how I can help you. Craniosacral therapy can offer so many benefits. As a deeply intuitive practitioner, I focus on:
- supporting the unravelling of old injuries, including head injuries
- working with deep trauma and grief, including PTSD
- lightening chronic conditions, including inflammation, anxiety, and mental illness
- resourcing for high-stress occupations
- readying for surgery, or clearing the system afterward
- helping artists or those facing dramatic change fins a sense of expanded possibilities and strengthened boundaries
- supporting mothers and infants as their bodies respond to and recover from birth
- working with anxious or injured pets
